This presentation covers the introduction of simple artifacts from different time periods.

After a brief background description, the students are asked to make deductions into the secrets that they can reveal about the users during that period in history. Conclusions by the students about their lifestyles and the technology of the time are encouraged. Artifacts can range from shaving and personal care items, tools and gadgets, clothing, and newspapers and periodicals of the time studied.
